FAN CONTROLLED FOOTBALL (FCF) SEASON v1.0 WEEK ONE: GAMEDAY SUMMARY

FCF Team Owners Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, Bob Menery, and Renee Montgomery Among Celebrity Guests in Attendance for League Debut

Duluth, Georgia (February 15, 2021) – Fan Controlled Football (FCF), the only professional sports league that empowers fans to call the plays in real-time, made history on Saturday night with the launch of its inaugural season, dubbed Season v1.0. Streamed live to fans via Twitch and gaming network, VENN, the back-to-back games created instant rivalries, with the Wild Aces putting the Glacier Boyz to bed, 30-22, and the Beasts showing their defensive grit in a final-play nail biter, upsetting Johnny Manziel and the Zappers, 48-44.

Beasts’ team ownership was out in full force at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia – where all FCF games will be played – with Marshawn Lynch, Miro and Renee Montgomery making brief guest appearances at the announcers’ booth, joining the league’s official broadcast team, consisting of FCF Commissioner Ray Austin, Chief Gaming Officer, Patrick Dees, and Greg Mescall. Bob Menery and Richard Sherman, owners of the Zappers and Glacier Boyz, respectively, also made their presence felt, engaging in trash talking of their own throughout the evening.

8:00pm EST | Glacier Boyz v. Wild Aces

Summary 

  • The Wild Aces matched their fans intensity on Saturday to record the first ever win in FCF history beating the Glacier Boyz 30-28 in game one of the FCF double header. The game’s leading rusher RB #31 Calen Campbell ran for 39 yards on eight carries and two scores establishing a solid ground game early in first half. The Wild Aces put up a total of 159 total yard featuring the arial assault from QB #5 Ed Crouch who put up 45 yards in the air and WR #13 Travis Toivonen hauled in 3 receptions for 46 yards leading to the first win of the season.
  • The Glacier Boyz franchise QB, #11 David Pindell was impressive in season debut scoring twice including the FCF’s first ever 11-yard TD run in the first half finishing 3-of-10 for 38 yards with two TDs.  The Boyz offense also found themselves a standout weapon in WR #18 Andrew Jamiel who caught two TDs and ended with 3 catches for 46 yards.
  • Tied at 22-22 with 1:59 to go in the second half Wild Aces turned to #31 Campbell won ran one in from 4-yard outs to solidify the Wild Aces victory who out rushed the Glacier Boyz 85-55
  • Final Score: Wild Aces – 30; Glacier Boyz – 22

9:30pm EST | Beasts v. Zappers 

Summary

  • ‘Win or lose we booze’ Zappers QB #2 Johnny Manziel was clear in his pregame comments and the FCF did not have to wait long for a Johnny Football highlight scrambling out of trouble for a memorable 38-yard first run on his first snap. Unfortunately, it was not enough to hold off the Beasts in a shootout 48-44.
  • The Beasts offense was relentless led by QB connection of #9 Quinto Flowers (5-8, 123-yards) who lit up the scoreboard throwing for two TDs and ran for two more, not overshadowing his teammate #12 TJ Edwards II who finished with 96-yards on the ground also punching in a pair of TDs.  The Beasts set the stage putting up 271 in total offense and impressive showing in their FCF debut.
  • Zappers played well as the fans were treated to the return of QB #2 Johnny Manziel, who did not disappoint running for 68 yards on the ground including 2-yard TD run in the first half. Team Owner Bob Menery was enthusiastic about emerging Zappers QB #4 Logan Marchi who threw for 68 yards and TD while racking up another 57-yards on the ground and two scores. The last-minute offensive effort by the Zappers was unsuccessful coming up short in game one.
  • Final Score: Beasts – 48; Zappers – 44
