WEEK 5 – FCF MAN-UP CHALLENGE RECAP – ROUND 1 PLAYOFF MATCH-UPS SET March 10, 2021

In just four short weeks Fan Controlled Football has become the “Fastest Growing Sports Channel” on Twitch and second-most watched sports channel on the platform. Last week games garnered more than 1.3 million live views bringing the season total to over 5.2 million live views across the FCF platforms outpacing the NBA and UFC respectfully.

As the FCF gears up for its first Playoff games in the league history, last night’s action-packed Playoff Preview Show featured the weekly Man-Up Challenges, the announcement of the fifth round of franchise tags for each team and an in-depth preview of  this weekend’s playoff match-ups. Tune-in this Saturday, March 13, as pre-game coverage begins at 7:30pm ET via Twich.tv/FCF and VENN TV.

With the regular season in the books, the Beasts took the crown with a 3-1 record to secure first place in the first ever regular season of the FCF.  Final regular season standings below:

FINAL REGULAR SEASON STANDINGS:

1. Beasts (3-1) outscored opponents 132-126 (+6)

2. Wild Aces (2-2) outscored opponents 144-138 (+6)

3. Zappers (2-2) outscored opponents 138-134 (+4)

4. Glacier Boyz (1-3) outscored 126-142 (-12)

After securing the top spot in the regular season, the Beasts fans were able to vote on their first-round playoff opponent and overwhelmingly choose the Glacier Boyz who finished fourth overall in the standings.  That decision led to setting the Wild Aces and Zappers to battle it out in the first round of the FCF playoffs which begins this Saturday at 7:30pm ET.

Before the Man-Up Challenges took place, the following players were tagged as the 5th and final franchise players for the following teams:

Marloshawn Franklin Jr. – Beasts; joining Troy Evans Jr., Quinton Flowers, TJ Edwards, and Christian Saulsberry

Dominick Sanders– Glacier Boyz; joining David Pindell, Andrew Jamiel, KaVontae Turpin, and Calen Campbell

Joseph Putu – Wild Aces; joining Jackson Erdmann, LaDarius Galloway, Richaud Floyd, and Raphael Leonard

Marquill Osborne – Zappers; joining Johnny Manziel, Travis Toivonen, and Logan Marchi

The complete team playoff rosters for all four teams will be announced later this week leading up to the action on Saturday night.

Former Super Bowl Champion RB Robert “Turbo” Turbin joined the broadcast from his hotel room as his COVID-19 protocol quarantine will conclude on Thursday morning pending another negative test result. Turbin is expected to play this Saturday and make his FCF debut with the Beasts. Zappers franchise QB Johnny Manziel is expected to be cleared from his COVID-19 protocol quarantine on Friday and is expected to suit up on Saturday to be reunited with Josh “Flash” Gordon.

On the field in the Man Up Challenge, QB’s TJ Edwards (BST) with 10 points and Jackson Erdmann (ACE) with 15 points took home the Power-Ups for their respective teams while WR’s Troy Evans Jr.(BST) and Raphael Leonard (ACE) took home the honors for their teams.  On the defensive side, Curtis Collins and Darreon Jackson each scored six points to shine defensively and will earn Power Ups for their teams in the first week of the FCF playoffs this Saturday.

Once again, players hung out on the field during the show to chill and play beer pong, corn hole, ping pong and get their social game on. Watch the entire playoff preview show on the FCF Twitch channel here: https://www.twitch.tv/fcf
